I will not remain a sitting duck, Omo-Agege says as he quits APC

Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has resigned from the All Progressives  Congress (APC), citing recent developments within the party in Delta State, which he said has made it difficult for him to serve his people.

Omo-Agege in his resignation letter addressed to his Orogun ward 2 chairman, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, said the party’s inability to offer him the platform to advance the interests of his constituents has left him with no alternative but to leave.

In the letter dated May 22, 2026, Omo Agege said his political aspirations and those of his followers could no longer be pursued effectively within the APC and that his decision followed consultations with political associates and supporters.

“I will not remain a sitting duck in a party where I cannot advance the interests of Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria,” he stated.

He thanked  the APC for the opportunity given to him to serve as Deputy President of the 9th Senate.

Omo-Agege, however, restated  his commitment  in pursuing development and effective representation for the people of Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria, noting that he would continue to pursue those goals outside the APC even though he has not disclosed his destination party.
