Iraqi athlete Shad Sabir wins silver at Asian Para-Taekwondo Championship

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi para-taekwondo national team athlete Shad Sabir secured a silver medal on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Asian Para-Taekwondo Championship currently being held in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar. Sabir’s podium finish followed a series of highly competitive matches where he demonstrated exceptional technical skill, solidifying his status as a major continental competitor.

According to an official statement from the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee, this achievement highlights the ongoing developmental strategies implemented by the Iraqi Paralympic Taekwondo Federation. The committee emphasized that sustained institutional support, optimized training camps, and regular participation in elite overseas competitions remain vital for producing podium-level results for Iraqi sports on both regional and international stages.
