Iraq’s oil exports to US significantly declines

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed on Sunday that Iraq’s weekly oil exports to the United States declined the last week, making the country the eighth-largest oil supplier to the US.

Iraq’s oil exports to the United States reached 67,000 barrels per day last week, marking a decline of 33,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week, when Iraq exported approximately 100,000 barrels per day to the US. This drop in exports positioned Iraq as the eighth-largest oil supplier to the United States.

According to the EIA, Canada accounted for the majority of the United States’ crude oil imports over the previous week, with an average of 3.79 million barrels per day, followed by Venezuela with 713,000 barrels per day, Mexico with 383,000 barrels per day, and Brazil with 173,000 barrels per day.

An average of 157,000 barrels were imported daily by the United States from Ecuador, 155,000 barrels from Saudi Arabia, 154,000 barrels from Colombia, and 67,000 barrels from Iraq.

The United States consumes over 20 million barrels of oil each day, making it the world’s largest consumer.
