ISP Group secures GreenRE certification across select properties
KUALA LUMPUR: ISP Group has secured GreenRE certification across a range of its industrial and workers’ accommodation properties, positioning itself among a limited number of Malaysian industrial developers with verified green credentials spanning both asset classes.
GreenRE is Malaysia’s recognised green building rating system, assessing developments based on energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor environmental quality and sustainable site planning.
The certifications cover both new developments and retrofitted brownfield assets under the group’s sustainability strategy.
Its latest milestone includes ISP Astute warehouse in Shah Alam, which received GreenRE Silver Certification under the existing industrial facilities category.
Meanwhile, ISP Home Kapar achieved the highest recognition to date with GreenRE gold certification.
The 10-storey workers’ accommodation facility in Klang houses 3,780 beds and incorporates solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems and shared amenities including a gymnasium and laundry facilities.
In Johor Bahru, ISP Home Desa Cemerlang received GreenRE silver certification for its five-storey accommodation facility serving manufacturers in the Ulu Tiram industrial area.
ISP Group founder and group chief executive officer Eric Ng said the company views green certification as part of its responsibility towards both workers and the environment.
“Malaysia is moving towards higher standards, greener buildings, and greater accountability for how workers live and work. We intend to be ahead of that curve,” he said.
Founded in 2022, ISP Group said it will continue expanding its green-certified footprint through new developments and brownfield retrofits as demand for ESG-compliant industrial assets grows.
