Japanese manufacturer eyes expanded semiconductor investments in PH

MANILA – Japanese manufacturer MinebeaMitsumi, Inc. is eyeing expanded investments in semiconductor back-end manufacturing and advanced precision technologies in the Philippines following a meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Tokyo, Japan on Thursday. During the meeting, the Japanese firm presented its expansion plans to Marcos. The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said discussions focused on ongoing and planned investments in semiconductor back-end manufacturing, battery-related components for hyperscale data centers, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technologies, and advanced precision manufacturing in the Philippines. “The meeting underscored the Philippines’ growing role in global semiconductor and advanced electronics supply chains, while reaffirming investor […]…
