Kajang SILK Highway crash: Couple seriously injured after speeding car loses control on downhill stretch

Malay Mail

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — A husband and wife were seriously injured after their car was hit by a vehicle believed to have been speeding while descending a slope at KM3.5 of the Kajang-SILK Highway in Kajang yesterday.

According to Harian Metro, the 9.10pm incident left the two local victims, aged 60 and 61, with serious injuries to the head and arms.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said initial investigations found that the vehicle involved was travelling from Kampung Baru Balakong towards Kajang.

He said the car was believed to have been speeding while going downhill before losing control and crashing into another vehicle in the middle lane of the SILK Highway towards Kajang.

“In the accident, a 35-year-old local male driver also sustained serious head injuries,” he said in a statement today.

All victims were taken to Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang, for further treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Naazron urged road users to drive carefully, obey traffic regulations and exercise caution to avoid unwanted incidents.

He also called on anyone with information regarding the incident to contact investigating officer Inspector Saifudin Saadun at 011-21119379 to assist investigations.
