Kebbi APC stakeholders ask aggrieved aspirants to embrace peace

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Kebbi State have appealed to aggrieved aspirants in the just concluded primaries of the party to embrace peace and unity ahead of the general elections.

The Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, and Founder of Tinubu Kauran Movement for Continuity, (TKG) Engineer Ahmed Umar Faruk, made the appeal in a press statement made available to Daily Trust on Monday.

He said peace and unity were necessary for the successful outing of the party in the coming general elections in the state.

“We wish to caution those who did not secure the party’s ticket to desist from comments, actions, and attitudes capable of causing division within the party and weakening our collective chances in the general elections”, he said.

He also tasked stakeholders of the party to work towards unity, stability, and progress of the APC at all levels noting that the interest of the party must supersede individual ambitions and personal interests.

The statement said “At this critical time, loyalty to the party and commitment to victory must remain our shared priority”.

Faruk cautioned stakeholders allegedly using social media influencers and supporters to attack fellow APC candidates, saying such actions were unhealthy, divisive, and capable of creating unnecessary tension within the party.

“We wish to remind party members that Kebbi Central is more than just a senatorial district; it remains the political heartbeat of Kebbi State. The zone consistently delivers the highest number of votes and serves as a political barometer for the mood of the electorate across the state”, it said.

The group in the statement what remains its concern is Kebbi Central and the National Assembly ticket for the Birnin Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza Federal Constituency emphasizing that losing it would not only represent a major strategic setback for the APC, but could also increase pressure on the re-election efforts of Governor Nasir Idris and risk reversing many of the achievements recorded by the current administration.

“Governor Idris earned the trust and mandate of the people through his grassroots connection, benevolence, and wide acceptance across the state. We therefore urge all party leaders and stakeholders to place the collective interest of the APC above personal political calculations”, it said.
