Liverpool Ramp Up Negotiations With Iraola

Liverpool have entered advanced discussions with Andoni Iraola as the club accelerates its search for a new head coach following the dismissal of Arne Slot.

The 43-year-old Spaniard departed Bournemouth at the conclusion of the season and has emerged as the leading candidate to take over at Anfield. Sources indicate that Iraola is now the clear frontrunner for the vacant position.

Determined to finalise an appointment swiftly, Liverpool’s hierarchy is prioritising a manager whose tactical philosophy aligns with the team’s desired identity: high-energy, front-foot football with an emphasis on pressing and attacking aggression.

While no formal approaches have been made regarding Iraola’s backroom staff, it is understood that the former Rayo Vallecano boss is eager to bring his trusted assistant from Bournemouth, Tommy Elphick, to Merseyside. Elphick, a lifelong Liverpool supporter, is believed to be enthusiastic about the prospect of joining the club he has followed since childhood.
