Man searches for wife missing after grocery outing
MELAKA: A man is pleading for the return of his wife who went missing after leaving home to buy groceries at a supermarket in Taman Malim Jaya last Thursday.
Noraslina Abdul Manap, 40, was last seen leaving her home at Rumah Pangsa Kampung Padang in Pokok Mangga here about 4.40pm on May 21.
Her husband, Mohamad Farouk Abdul Salam, 49, said he only realised she was missing after trying to contact her when he arrived home.
“At 6pm, my wife had still not returned, which made me worried, so I tried to call her. But the calls could not get through, as though her phone had been switched off, and she has not been found to this day,” he said.
Farouk said he had tried searching for his wife at the homes of relatives and close friends but was unable to find her.
He said a police report was lodged at Malim police station last Friday out of concern for his wife’s safety.
He said Noraslina had never left home for an extended period without informing the family, and that he was unaware of any reason behind her disappearance as there had been no problems between them prior to the incident.
“I hope my wife can return soon as our whole family is very worried about her safety.

Meanwhile, Melaka Tengah police chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit confirmed receiving a report regarding the missing woman.
