Marcos blames ‘obstructionists’ for turning up ‘political heat’

TOKYO, Japan — It’s only the “obstructionists” themselves who could turn down the political heat currently roiling the government, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. asserted on Friday, noting all he had ever done was focus on his job as the nation’s leader. Marcos, who is nearing his fourth year as president, made the statement after being asked what actions he would pursue to quiet down the political noise disturbing the country so that he could accomplish whatever he could for the rest of his term.
