Marcos’ Japan visit to yield deals on key sectors – DFA

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s state visit to Japan from May 26 to 29 is expected to yield new agreements on defense, trade and investment, and human resources, Foreign Affairs spokesperson Analyn Ratone said on Monday. According to Ratone, Marcos and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will discuss cooperation on regional security, maritime and defense issues, the economy, energy resilience, and decarbonization, as well as emerging and future-oriented sectors. “It is also expected that the two leaders will discuss regional and global issues affecting the Philippines and Japan, such as Asean, challenges in the Indo-Pacific region, and developments in […]…
