Negri Sembilan PH meeting routine, not emergency session, says DAP leader
SEREMBAN: The state Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership meeting held at the menteri besar’s official residence this morning was a routine gathering and not an emergency session, said Negri Sembilan DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin.
Several PH leaders in the state confirmed that a PH leadership council meeting was held in Seremban earlier today to discuss preparations for the state election.
Cha said the meeting was chaired by Negri Sembilan PH chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
“I attended the Pakatan Harapan Negri Sembilan leadership council meeting together with state assemblymen at the menteri cesar’s official residence this morning.
“It is a normal meeting, not a special meeting. It was labelled emergency due to short notice following the dissolution of the Johor state legislative assembly yesterday afternoon.
“The meeting was held in a harmonious atmosphere with a family spirit within PH Negri Sembilan. We discussed the readiness of the PH election machinery for the upcoming state election,” said the Rasah MP.
Meanwhile, Seremban Jaya assemblyman Datuk P. Gunasekaren said various matters were discussed, focusing mainly on preparations and campaign machinery for the state polls.
The DAP Negri Sembilan deputy chairman said the meeting did not discuss the date of the state assembly dissolution.
“Matters related to the date of dissolution are not yet known as it must follow legal procedures, but currently there are some constitutional issues.
“So we still do not know when the dissolution of the state assembly or the state election will take place,” he said, adding that state DAP chairman Anthony Loke was not present at the meeting.
