Netanyahu backs Trump on Iran, demands dismantling of nuclear programme

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he and US President Donald Trump are aligned on forcing Iran to dismantle its nuclear capabilities as part of any deal.

Speaking after a call with Trump, Netanyahu said both leaders agreed that any agreement “must eliminate the nuclear danger”.

“That means dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites and removing its enriched nuclear material from its territory,” he said on X.

Netanyahu added that his position remains unchanged.

“My policy, like President Trump’s, remains unchanged: Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”

He also said Trump reaffirmed Israel’s ability to continue military action across the region.

“President Trump also reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon”.
