PKR Youth demands explanation from MPs linked to Bersama event
PADANG RENGAS: PKR Youth has urged members of parliament seen at an event involving Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) to clarify their involvement, saying party members are entitled to seek explanations over the matter.
Its chief, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, said those who attended the event should come forward and explain their presence to prevent prolonged speculation and criticism.
“For me, it is simple. They appeared on a platform under another party and they should come forward and provide the appropriate explanation.
“If they do not take such an approach, then they are allowing this issue to continue, and they should not be upset if others keep attacking them over it,” he said.
He said it was reasonable for PKR grassroots members to raise concerns over the matter, particularly following recent political developments involving former party leaders.
“I mean, it’s fair for party members to question or raise this matter, but it is also their responsibility to provide clarification and explanations,” he said.
Kamil also expressed confidence that the party leadership would seek explanations from those involved.
“I believe the party will also ask some of them to come forward and provide explanations and clarification as well,” he added.
On May 17, former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli and former PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad announced their departure from PKR and takeover of Bersama, which was established in 2016.
Among those seen attending the event were Sungai Siput MP S. Kesavan, Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail, Subang MP Wong Chen and Balik Pulau MP Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik.
