The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Plateau United have confirmed that their crucial Matchday 38 clash against Kano Pillars will be played behind closed doors.
The announcement, made in a statement cited security concerns as the primary reason for excluding fans from the high-stakes encounter at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
The decision transforms what should have been a tense, atmospheric relegation battle into a ghostly affair. With both clubs still fighting for their top-flight lives, the absence of spectators adds an unusual layer of pressure players will hear every shout from the bench and every kick of the ball in near-silence, a far cry from the usual cauldron of Nigerian football.
For Plateau United, known as the Peace Boys, the equation is simple: only a win will guarantee their NPFL survival.
