PN determined to lead Malay-Muslim unity and inter-ethnic harmony narrative, says Samsuri
KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) is determined to lead the narrative on Malay-Muslim unity and strengthen inter-ethnic harmony as a key condition for national stability and the people’s well-being.
Its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, said Malaysia’s unique multi-ethnic society should be celebrated as a strength rather than viewed as a liability.
“Let us manage this diversity with wisdom. Let us celebrate the uniqueness of our plural society not as a liability, but as a source of strength.
“We are determined to lead the narrative of Malay-Muslim unity and inter-ethnic harmony in Malaysia as a prerequisite for national stability that will ensure the well-being of all citizens, regardless of race, in this beloved country,” Samsuri, who is also Terengganu Menteri Besar, said in a Facebook post today.
Samsuri previously was quoted as saying that unity must be continuously built through policy, cross-cultural education, and healthy social interaction.
He said efforts to strengthen unity should not be confined to election periods, but instead be made a consistent national agenda.
The opposition leader also expressed hope that a national unity movement could be formed to restore harmony and eliminate prejudice within society.
“Let it be from Terengganu that a movement begins to unite hearts, extinguish the flames of prejudice, and rebuild a nation that is harmonious, peaceful, and respected by the world,” he said.
