Police Arrest Female Suspect With 13 Bags of Indian Hemp

Operatives of the Delta State Police command have arrested a 57-year-old female suspect with 13 nylon bags of illicit substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspect was arrested by the operatives of Quick Response Squad (QRS), in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

He said on May 22, 2026, the police intercepted a tricycle during a stop-and-search operation along Esisi Road, Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of the State.

According to him, a search of the trycycle led to the recovery of 13 nylon bags containing substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

He said a 57-year-old female suspect was arrested in connection with the exhibit.

Edafe said investigation was ongoing to determine the source and intended destination of the drugs.
