Right to information, anti-fake news bills will be safeguards — solon

MANILA, Philippines — Despite concerns over the proposed right-to-information and anti-fake-news bills nearing approval at the House of Representatives, Parañaque Rep. Brian Raymund Yamsuan assured the public that both measures would protect the people and ensure transparency. In a statement on Thursday, Yamsuan said the two measures would work hand in hand, with House Bill (HB) No. 9397, or the proposed Right to Information Act, ensuring that the public is informed about developments at all levels of government, while HB No. 9465, or the proposed Digital Media Anti-False Information Act, seeks to curb misinformation and disinformation. “These two measures working […]…
