Sandiganbayan issues travel ban vs Marcoleta, 3 others

[Updated May 26, 2026, 5:16 p.m.] MANILA, Philippines — The Sandiganbayan on Tuesday granted the precautionary hold departure order (PHDO) against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, former Rep. Mike Defensor, and two other individuals. Earlier, the Sandiganbayan Seventh Division heard the PHDO petition of the Office of the Ombudsman against the respondents based on complaints of plunder and indirect bribery over an alleged campaign donation to Marcoleta worth P75 million. The anti-graft body also said that violation of Presidential Decree No. 46, or the decree that prohibits public officials and employees from receiving gifts from private persons on any occasion, should be filed against Marcoleta. “Today, May […]…
