Shooting outside White House forces security lockdown

The White House was placed under lockdown following a shooting incident just outside its perimeter, Al-Qahera News Channel (Cairo News Channel) reported on Sunday.

US media outlets added that the gunfire occurred near the White House complex, prompting the immediate evacuation of journalists and reporters to a secure location, according to a breaking news bulletin broadcast by Cairo News.

This development comes hours after a report by the same news outlet indicated that the draft of a proposed agreement between Washington and Tehran has been forwarded to the leadership of both countries for final approval.

The report cited diplomatic sources confirming that senior negotiators from both sides have granted initial approval to the terms of the draft.

The highly anticipated announcement could represent the culmination of an intensive negotiating track recently carried out amid accelerating diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region.
