#SHOWBIZ: KL Headline Season 2026 ignites capital as key destination for live music
KUALA LUMPUR: The national capital’s accelerating rise as one of Asia’s key destinations for live music is set to become a reality with KL Headline Season 2026.
Developed by Live Nation Malaysia in collaboration with PR Worldwide, Tourism Malaysia, and CelcomDigi, the initiative represents a strategic push to bring more world-class live entertainment to the city.
Under this initiative, Kuala Lumpur is set to host 25 international music performances throughout 2026, across six major venues with an estimated 500,000 fans from Malaysia and the region.
The season includes arena and theatre performances by global artistes such as Lany, Laufey, Bryan Adams, DAY 6, TREASURE, and Daniel Caesar.
Stadium-scale performances by Post Malone, The Weeknd, and BTS are also scheduled, reflecting the city’s growing ability to host large-scale productions.
The event was launched at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre by Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh and Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil today.
Also present was Live Nation Malaysia managing director Para Rajagopal.
Para said: “Concerts today are powerful tourism drivers — motivating fans to travel across borders, extend their stays, and engage more deeply with the destinations they visit.”
“Through KL Headline Season, the fan experience will extend far beyond the venue itself into a broader lifestyle and cultural journey.
“Visitors can look forward to curated experiences that showcase the best of Malaysia — from its renowned food culture and iconic attractions to its vibrant urban energy.
“Each concert becomes more than a performance—it becomes a gateway to experiencing Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
Para added that beyond ticket sales, the economic impact is expected to benefit multiple sectors, including hotels, airlines, retail, food and beverage, while creating opportunities for local businesses and communities across the city.
Yeoh said that the season was in line with Visit Malaysia 2026 and was focused on strengthening Malaysia’s position as a leading destination for high-value tourism.
“Major concerts and events attract international visitors and contribute to the broader tourism ecosystem.
“Kuala Lumpur is well placed to support this growth, and we welcome collaboration with industry partners to expand the country’s live events,” she said.
Para added: “Live music is about connection. It brings artistes and fans together in moments that stay with you long after the show ends.”
“We are focused on creating more of these moments by bringing global artistes closer to fans in Malaysia and across the region.
“With KL Headline Season, we’re building a steady rhythm of live shows that fans can look forward to.
“By anchoring more concerts in Kuala Lumpur, we’re creating stronger momentum—for artistes, fans and the wider tourism ecosystem—while helping establish the city as a consistent stop on Asian tours,” he said.
The artistes who will perform in KL include Treasure (Unifi Arena, May 30), Anson Sebra (Zepp KL, May 30), Laufey (Unifi Arena, June 2), Kodaline (Idea Live Arena, Aug 26), Post Malone (TM Stadium Nasional, Sept 27), Lany (Unifi Arena, Nov 1), The Weeknd (TM Stadium Nasional, Nov 4 to 5), and BTS (TM Stadium Nasional, Dec 12 to 13).
