Thai cops dress as dancers to nab drug trafficker

LOP BURI: Police in Tha Luang district in Thailand carried out a sting operation by going undercover as dancers to arrest a man suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and illegal online gambling.

According to news portal The Thaiger, officers dressed up and blended into the scene before moving in to detain a man identified as Mekha Fa-wap-wap.

During the arrest, police seized 53 methamphetamine pills, more than 200 small plastic bags believed to be used for drug distribution, and a mobile phone allegedly linked to an illegal online slot machine operation.

Authorities said the suspect is being investigated for possession of drugs with intent to sell, as well as operating an unauthorised online gambling platform.

He is currently in police custody while investigations continue.
