Tinubu Sweeps Gombe APC Presidential Primaries With 450,517 Votes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential direct primaries in Gombe State, polling 450,517 votes to defeat his challenger, Stanley Osifo, who reportedly scored zero votes across the state.

The result was announced on Saturday in Gombe by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who also served as the APC presidential primary collation officer in the state.

Governor Yahaya disclosed the result shortly after casting his vote at Jekadafari Ward in Gombe, noting that the exercise was conducted peacefully across the state’s 11 local government areas.

Addressing officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party representatives, and observers during the collation exercise at the APC Square in Gombe, the governor said the results had been received from local government collation officers and would be transmitted to Abuja for final aggregation.

“This direct primary conducted for the presidential candidate has been collated here and will be transmitted to Abuja for final collation,” he said.

He announced that President Tinubu swept all local government areas in the state, recording substantial votes across the board.

According to the breakdown, Tinubu polled 85,873 votes in Akko Local Government Area; 23,307 in Balanga; 23,675 in Billiri; 24,964 in Dukku; and 22,761 in Funakaye.

Others include 112,414 votes in Gombe LGA, 22,998 in Kaltungo, 25,305 in Kwami, 21,388 in Nafada, 12,765 in Shongom, and 75,067 in Yamaltu-Deba.

Governor Yahaya said a total of 450,517 votes were recorded from the state’s registered APC membership strength of over 550,000 participants in the exercise.

He added that President Tinubu secured all valid votes cast, while his opponent, Stanley Osifo, recorded no votes.

The APC chairman in Gombe State, Mohammed Dantata Ndus, commended the conduct of the exercise, describing it as peaceful and orderly throughout.
