Two found unconscious in house fire in Johor’s Taman Ehsan Jaya

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — Two occupants of a two-storey terrace house were found unconscious after a fire broke out at Jalan Ehsan Jaya 3/10 in Taman Ehsan Jaya on Tuesday night.

According to firefighters, the victims were discovered inside a bedroom on the upper floor during search and rescue operations at the scene, Sinar Harian reported.

Johor Jaya Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Senior Fire Officer I Rafie Ahmad Sareng said a team was deployed after receiving an emergency call at about 9.06pm.

Upon arrival at 9.12pm, firefighters found a double-storey permanent structure on fire, with about 60 per cent of the house already destroyed.

He said the two victims were located unconscious in a bedroom upstairs by firefighters conducting rescue operations.

Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel immediately carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before the victims were taken to Hospital Sultan Ismail for further treatment.

A total of 14 firefighters from the Johor Jaya station were involved in the operation, assisted by teams from Tebrau and Kempas fire stations.

The fire was brought under control at about 10.05pm, while the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
