Video: Australian flotilla activist describes abuse in Israeli detention

Australian activists on the Global Sumud Flotilla described their experience in Israeli detention as they arrived in Sydney, Australia.

One activist, Juliet Lamont, details being beaten, dragged and tied up following her abduction by Israeli forces. The activists called on Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to end their country’s relationship with Israel.

The flotilla, consisting of more than 50 boats carrying activists, medical supplies, food, and other humanitarian aid, was intercepted by Israeli forces near Cyprus on Tuesday as it attempted to sail towards Gaza.

Organisers said the mission aimed to break Israel’s maritime blockade and draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
