WCE narrows FY2026 losses as toll revenue surges

KUALA LUMPUR: WCE Holdings Bhd narrowed its losses for the financial year ended March 31, 2026 (FY2026) as revenue surged.

WCE posted a net loss of RM89.29 million for FY2036 against RM147.01 million net loss a year earlier.

At pre-tax level, WCE’s loss stood at RM70.5 million for FY2026, a 48 per cent improvement from RM134.3 million recorded in FY2025.

The performance was supported by stronger toll collection, rising traffic volumes and improved operational performance as more sections of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) became operational.

Its revenue rose 33 per cent to RM839.5 million, driven mainly by higher construction revenue recognised during the earlier quarters of the financial year, completion of six Rest and Service Areas (RSAs), as well as stronger toll collection.

For the fourth quarter, the group recorded a pre-tax profit of RM39.4 million, mainly due to a one-off fair value gain of RM68 million arising from the remeasurement of Murabahah loan stocks.

Excluding the one-off gain, WCE would have recorded a pre-tax loss of RM28.6 million for the quarter, an improvement of 33 per cent from RM42.9 million a year earlier.

The group’s operational performance remained resilient, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) increasing 81 per cent to RM32.6 million in 4QFY2026.

For FY2026, Ebitda climbed 29 per cent to RM126.7 million from RM98.2 million previously.

Toll collection revenue continued to strengthen, rising 31 per cent in the fourth quarter and 44 per cent for the full year compared with the corresponding periods last year, supported by higher traffic volumes following the opening of Sections 1 and 2.

WCE recorded a sectional average daily traffic peak of 399,000 vehicles in March 2026, alongside a record monthly toll collection of RM17.3 million.

Chief executive officer Lyndon Alfred Felix said the improving traffic volumes and toll revenue milestones reflected the expressway’s growing utilisation and strategic importance.

He said the company remained focused on completing the remaining sections of the highway to support sustainable long-term profitability.
