KUALA KRAI, May 27 — A woman was killed while five others, including two boys, were injured in an accident involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a car near a Caltex petrol station in Laloh here this morning.

Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa said the victim, Safinaz Razmi, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel.

“We received an emergency call at 7.18am and arrived at the scene 26 minutes later, covering a distance of 30.2 kilometres. The road accident involved a Toyota Alphard MPV and a Perodua Bezza car.

“The woman in the Perodua Bezza car was confirmed dead by the MOH,” he said in a statement today.

He said the fire department acted to remove the deceased and the body over to the police for further action.

“Meanwhile, the injured victims, which included three people in a Perodua Bezza car and two boys in a Toyota Alphard, were sent to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital, Kuala Krai for further treatment,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kuala Krai district deputy police chief DSP Mohd Maizan Mustaffa, when contacted, confirmed that two more of Safinaz’s children died while receiving treatment in the red zone of the Emergency Unit at the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital, Kuala Krai, this afternoon.

“The two victims are Jasmin Lyana Mohd Jamil, 22, and one-year-old Nur Nuha Helena Abdul Matiin,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
