Zamfara, Air Force deepen collaboration against banditry

The Zamfara State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and other security agencies to tackle insecurity in the state.

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Muhammad Mahmud Dantawasa, said this in a statement.

He said Governor Dauda Lawal had continued to support security agencies through logistics and collaboration aimed at restoring peace across the state.

According to him, the governor’s recent visit to Air Force personnel at the Gusau International Airport was aimed at boosting the morale of officers engaged in operations against banditry and other crimes in the North-West.

Dantawasa described the Nigerian Air Force as a critical partner in the fight against insecurity, noting that its intelligence and aerial operations had helped disrupt criminal activities in remote communities.

He said the administration believed that security remained central to development and economic growth.

The commissioner added that the government was also addressing the root causes of insecurity through investments in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and youth empowerment programmes.

He expressed optimism that sustained collaboration between the state government and security agencies would improve safety and restore confidence among residents.
