شهدت عدة دول أوروبية موجة واسعة من الاحتجاجات العنيفة التي شارك فيها طلاب ومعلمون ضد سياسات التقشف وارتفاع تكاليف المعيشة.
تسببت المظاهرات في فرنسا وإيطاليا وألبانيا في اشتباكات مع الشرطة وأعمال نهب وحرق لمبانٍ وسيارات.
تظاهر المتظاهرون في البرتغال وإسبانيا ضد أزمة السكن وارتفاع الإيجارات، بينما احتج طلاب في النمسا وصربيا ضد نقص التمويل والفساد.
أدت أعمال الشغب في فرنسا إلى اعتقال 1800 شخص وإصابة مئات من رجال الشرطة والإطفاء وفرض حظر تجول.

تثور في عدد من الدول الأوروبية – مثل فرنسا وبلجيكا وإسبانيا – احتجاجات على ارتفاع تكاليف المعيشة والتخفيضات في ميزانيات المدارس والجامعات. وتخللت بعضها أعمال عنف وتدمير ونهب. نظرة عامة على الاحتجاجات في أوروبا.
