قد تكون وفرة رأس المال وتراكم الأموال هي المشكلة الأساسية التي تواجه الاقتصاد العالمي بدلاً من ندرة الأموال.
تؤدي السيولة الزائدة إلى زيادة المنافسة على الفرص الاستثمارية ورفع أسعار الأصول وتمويل مشروعات قد لا تحقق عوائد مستدامة.
يؤدي البحث عن وجهات لاستيعاب الفوائض المالية إلى تمويل أنشطة قد تتجاوز جدواها الاقتصادية المباشرة مثل الاستثمار في الذكاء الاصطناعي.
تتطلب وفرة السيولة تمييز المشروعات ذات النماذج الإنتاجية الحقيقية عن تلك التي تعتمد فقط على التوقعات المتفائلة.
