دراسة إقليمية.. المكورات الرئوية أبرز أسباب التهاب السحايا لدى أطفال مصر والأردن والعراق

تسببت المكورات الرئوية في 87% من حالات التهاب السحايا البكتيري المؤكدة مختبريا لدى الأطفال في الأردن ومصر والعراق.
أظهرت نتائج السنة الثانية من دراسة شبكة MenMap تقدما في قدرات المختبرات على تحديد أنواع البكتيريا بدقة كاملة.
كشفت الدراسة عن نقص في توثيق تاريخ التطعيم ومتابعة النتائج الصحية للمرضى كأولويات للمرحلة المقبلة.
تهدف هذه الجهود الإقليمية إلى تحسين رصد المرض وتوفير بيانات دقيقة لتوجيه استراتيجيات الوقاية والتحصين حتى عام 2030.

يتسبب التهاب السحايا البكتيري في وفيات ومضاعفات صحية خطيرة حول العالم. وتشير تقديرات منظمة الصحة العالمية إلى وفاة نحو واحد من كل ستة أشخاص يصابون بالمرض، فيما يعاني واحد من كل خمسة ناجين من مضاعفات شديدة
