ما يعرفه ريفو عن الخبر

  • تشير دراسة في مجلة Nature Geoscience إلى أن تفاعلات كيميائية بين الهيدروجين وأكاسيد الحديد في الصخور قد أنتجت كميات هائلة من المياه.
  • أظهرت التجارب المخبرية تحول 80% من أكاسيد الحديد إلى حديد معدني وإنتاج الماء خلال دقائق عند تسخين الصخور.
  • قد تعني هذه النتائج أن الكواكب الصخرية الأخرى قادرة على إنتاج المياه خلال مراحل تشكلها دون الاعتماد على مصادر خارجية.
  • تساعد هذه الفرضية في تفسير أصل مياه الأرض وفهم دور التفاعلات الكيميائية في نمو الكواكب وتوسيع البحث عن الحياة.

كشفت دراسة جديدة أن الأرض ربما أنتجت معظم مياهها قبل نحو 4.5 مليار سنة، من خلال تفاعلات كيميائية بين الصخور والهيدروجين، بدلا من وصول المياه من الفضاء عبر المذنبات والنيازك.
