تتطلب النوبة القلبية تدخلاً طبياً عاجلاً في الدقائق الأولى لمنع تلف عضلة القلب الناتج عن انسداد الشرايين.
يجب التوقف عن أي مجهود بدني والاتصال بالإسعاف فوراً عند الاشتباه في الإصابة وتجنب القيادة للوصول للمستشفى.
يمكن مضغ قرص أسبرين بجرعة بين 162 و325 ملجم عند الاشتباه بالنوبة بشرط عدم وجود موانع طبية.
تتنوع أعراض النوبة القلبية لتشمل ضيق التنفس والتعرق البارد وألم يمتد للذراع أو الفك أو الظهر.

الدقائق الأولى بعد الإصابة بالنوبة القلبية من أخطر المراحل التي تتطلب تدخلًا سريعًا، إذ إن كل دقيقة تأخير تؤدي إلى مزيد من التلف في عضلة القلب، نتيجة انسداد أحد الشرايين المسؤولة عن تغذيتها، وهو ما قد يهدد حياة المريض إذا لم يحصل على الرعاية الطبية العاجلة. وحذر أطباء القلب من تجاهل الأعراض الأولية
