مطالب بامكانية عودة بريطانيا للاتحاد الأوروبي

دعا  السياسي البريطاني المحافظ مايكل هيزلتاين إلى إعادة النظر في إمكانية العودة إلى الاتحاد الأوروبي، واتهم هيزلتاين -نائب رئيس الوزراء السابق في حكومات مارغريت تاتشر وجون ميجور– قادة حملة اتفاق خروج بريطانيا من الاتحاد الأوروبي (بريكست) بتقديم وعود مضللة للناخبين سرعان ما أثبتت فشلها.

واستند إلى استطلاعات رأي أظهرت تزايد التشكيك في جدوى بريكست، وارتفاع التأييد لتوثيق العلاقات مع أوروبا، في مؤشر على تحول الرأي العام البريطاني بعد سنوات من الخروج.

ودخل بريكست حيز التنفيذ رسميا في 31 يناير 2020، أعقبته فترة انتقالية استمرت حتى نهاية العام نفسه. و »بريكست » (Brexit) كلمة مركبة ناتجة عن دمج كلمتي « British » (بريطاني) و »Exit » (خروج).

وجاء قرار الانسحاب عقب استفتاء شعبي أجري في يونيو 2016، وصوّت فيه نحو 17.4 مليون بريطاني، بما يمثل 51.9% من المشاركين، لصالح مغادرة الاتحاد الأوروبي.

وعاد ملف بريكست إلى الواجهة في ماي 2026، بعد أن وصف وزير الصحة البريطاني السابق ويس ستريتينغ بريكست بأنه خطأ كارثي، ودعا إلى عودة بريطانيا للاتحاد الأوروبي.

ونقل موقع الجزيرة نت عن مقال في صحيفة « إندبندنت » البريطانية، جاء فيه أن استطلاع رأي أجرته مؤسسة « يوغوف » في أبريل 2026، كشف أن نحو ثلثي الشعب البريطاني (63%) يرغبون في تقوية العلاقات مع الاتحاد الأوروبي، بينما يرغب 55% من الشعب في العودة إليه.
