وزارة الحرب الأميركية: نراجع استراتيجية الاستخدام المحتمل للأسلحة النووية

أعلن وكيل وزارة الحرب الأميركية، إلبريدج كولبي، اليوم الخميس، إن الولايات المتحدة تراجع حاليًا استراتيجيتها النووية.

وتحدث كولبي للصحفيين خلال إيجاز صحفي عن “مراجعة محدودة نسبيًاط تركز بشكل أكبر على الاستخدام المحدد والمحتمل للأسلحة النووية. وقال: “من الواضح أن الهدف هنا، وأؤكد على ذلك، هو الحفاظ على الردع والاستقرار”.

كما شدد كولبي على أن الجيش الأميركي كان منظما في السابق بطريقة تمكنه من تنفيذ “عمليات لتغيير الأنظمة”، لكنه يتجه الآن، نحو “وظيفة دفاعية وقائية”، مع التركيز على الدفاع عن السلامة الإقليمية لحلفائه.

وذكرت شبكة NBC الأميركية الأسبوع الماضي أن كولبي يعمل حاليًا على استراتيجية نووية جديدة تشمل إمكانية استخدام أسلحة نووية تكتيكية قصيرة المدى في حال اندلاع حرب إقليمية مع الصين أو روسيا.

يأتي ذلك في إطار مراجعة تهدف إلى توسيع خيارات الولايات المتحدة في التعامل مع صراعات إقليمية محتملة، مع التركيز على الحفاظ على الردع وتجنب التصعيد إلى مواجهة نووية واسعة.
