Chris Brown Bags Honorary Doctorate

American singer, songwriter, dancer and actor, Christopher Maurice Brown, popularly known as Chris Brown, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Visual & Performing Arts on May 23, 2026.

Harvest Christian University presented this recognition during a graduation ceremony in Los Angeles, USA.

Chris Brown marked the occasion by posting images of his certificate on social media, with the caption, “I DID A THING!”, reflecting his excitement over the recognition.

This award was given to him for long-standing influence spanning over two decades in music, dance, and the wider entertainment industry. It was described as an acknowledgement of his creative impact and contribution to the performing arts.

In addition to the honorary doctorate, Brown also received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award medal, presented in recognition of his artistic legacy and continued relevance in global popular culture.

This announcement has since stirred up reactions across social media with fans sending congratulatory comments like, “Dr Breezy,” “Dr Brown,” “Is there anything you cannot do? You are exactly who you think you are, Mr. Brown.”
