Coronation Street confirms dark new motive in murder story as fresh suspect comes to the fore

This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Tuesday, May 26) Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.

Theo Silverton is still at the forefront of most Coronation Street residents’ minds, with the subject of his murder being the major talking point in most conversations.

This was certainly the case today, when Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) went shopping for flowers for Theo’s funeral, and baulked at the prices Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) was charging.

After she’d left, Tracy pointed out that she was making a big deal out of nothing, considering the settlement she was sure to get after Theo’s murder.

George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) has been putting his foot in it a lot lately, and he once again didn’t think before suggesting that money sounded like a strong motive to kill.

Gary Windass (Mikey North) was unimpressed by George’s insinuation, and warned him to stop pointing the finger at their neighbours – especially given what happened to Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby).

Viewers will know that Summer is currently being held in prison while awaiting trial for Theo’s murder – a crime that she didn’t commit.

She was arrested after George told police that she had lied about the last time she’d seen Theo, adding to the evidence that was already stacked against her.

But with Summer in prison, the real killer is still out there – could it be Danielle?

Later this week, Danielle joins in the finger-pointing when she accuses Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) of killing Theo for his life insurance.

However, when Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) shares his suspicions with Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), Danielle is the one brought in for questioning.

Could Tracy’s teasing actually end up being true?
