Eid-El-Kabir: Barau Urges Unity, Charity, Prayers for Nigeria

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has rejoiced with Muslims across the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebration, calling for sustained prayers, unity, and support for the poor and vulnerable in society.

In a special Sallah message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau urged Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and the continued progress of the country.

Senator Barau, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, also congratulated Nigerian pilgrims currently performing the Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, urging them to remember Nigeria and the leaders in their prayers at the holy sites.

He called on the pilgrims to pray for enduring peace, stability, and prosperity in the country, noting that their prayers at such a sacred period are invaluable to national development.

He also urged Nigerians to continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the President remains committed to addressing the nation’s challenges and improving the well-being of citizens.

“I wish Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians, a peaceful and memorable Eid-El-Kabir. This season reminds us of total submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim. True believers must uphold the values of sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, justice, and charity.”

“In the spirit of this season, let us extend a hand of support to the poor and needy around us, and regardless of our differences, recommit ourselves to building a united, peaceful, and economically strong nation.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to demonstrate leadership and commitment towards addressing the challenges facing our country. With sustained efforts and the support of all Nigerians, we are confident that the nation will achieve greater stability and prosperity. Eid Mubarak!, ” he said
