Govt will continue to work hard, ensure the people are looked after, says PM
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) meeting focused on efforts to address mounting pressures stemming from the global supply chain crisis, particularly involving the healthcare and commodities sectors.
In a post on his social media platforms, Anwar said the meeting heard key presentations from the Health Ministry and the Plantation and Commodities Ministry.
He said the Madani government understood the plight of the people facing rising living costs and global economic uncertainties.
“Taking this into consideration, the government has agreed to continue the targeted Budi Madani initiative through Budi Agri-Komoditi to assist smallholders, entrepreneurs and vulnerable groups who form the backbone of the national economy,” he said.
On healthcare, he said the overall supply of medicines remained stable, adding that the Health Ministry would continue to closely monitor any challenges involving stock supply chains or prices to ensure the rakyat would not be adversely affected.
“Whatever challenges may come, the Madani government will continue working hard, act with compassion and ensure the people’s welfare remains the nation’s priority,” he said.
