Kefas Reaffirms Commitment To Peace, Unity In Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, unity and harmonious coexistence among religious groups and across ethnic nationalities in the state.

Kefas made the call on Friday while receiving the leadership of the Muslim Council of Nigeria, Wukari chapter, who paid him a Sallah homage at the TY Danjuma House in Wukari.

He urged residents to put past differences behind them in the interest of collective progress, stressing the need for continued tolerance and mutual understanding regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the peaceful celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festival in the area, noting that sustained harmony was critical to development.

He also warned against actions capable of undermining peace and security, urging religious leaders and community stakeholders to remain vigilant and promote unity.

According to him, incidents that previously threatened peace in the state should be regarded as “bygones” and must not be allowed to recur.

Kefas said his administration had recorded progress in key sectors, including education, security, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, as well as the payment of pensions and gratuities.

He assured residents that his government would continue to deliver democratic dividends across all parts of the state without discrimination.

Earlier, the leader of the Muslim delegation said the visit was to felicitate with the governor during the Sallah celebration and commended him for ongoing development projects across Taraba State.
