King Abdullah II of Jordan personally congratulates Jordanians via text for Jordan’s 80th Independence Day

ALBAWABA – On 25th May, Monday morning, Jordanians across the Kingdom received a text message (SMS) from King Abdullah II himself, congratulating them on 80 years of independence and wishing them health and blessings as Jordanians celebrate the national holiday.

Later the same day, official celebrations are planned at Jordan’s Al Husseiniya Palace along with scores of unofficial concerts and events across the Kingdom.

Cause for celebration is much needed amid the rising regional tensions and price hikes. Throughout its existence, against all odds, Jordan has remained a peaceful and stable modern Arab country.

Throughout the last 80 years, Jordan pulled through the Cold War, the Arab-Israeli conflict –having fought three wars in this conflict–, a civil war, the Gulf war, the Iraq war, the 2008 global recession, the Arab Spring, the rise of ISIS, the Syrian Civil war, a world-wide pandemic, and the current iteration of the Iran-US war.

Having not just survived through these conflicts but having thrived as well, the country still stands strong on its day today, with peace, stability, and modernity as a shining example of what can be achieved regardless of internal and external limitations, proving the age-old saying ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way.’

With this in their minds, Jordanians are in high spirits, looking towards the future with careful optimism knowing that whatever may come their way, they will deal with it as they always have throughout their history.
