Man accused of stabbing woman in the neck arrives in court
ALOR STAR: A 32-year-old man suspected of slitting his female friend’s throat inside a car in Titi Gajah, Kepala Batas, has arrived at the Alor Setar Sessions Court to face charges.
The suspect, clad in a T-shirt and trousers, arrived in a police van to be charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
It was previously reported that during the May 17 incident at 9.19pm, a 35-year-old woman sustained severe neck injuries after being stabbed by her male friend inside a car in front of a restaurant.
The suspect fled the scene but was arrested by police four hours later.
A Rambo knife used in the attack was recovered the following day in a nearby padi field.
Kedah police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah had previously told a press conference that jealousy was the suspected motive after the victim rejected the suspect’s romantic advances.
