District police chief Superintendent Hadzrat Hussein Mion said the extension was granted by the court today to allow further investigations into the case.
The men, aged between 18 and 22, were arrested within 24 hours of the incident in an operation involving the Johor police criminal task force and the criminal investigation division of the district police headquarters.
They were detained in separate raids at Taman Botani in Batu Pahat and Pangsapuri Awam Lima Kedai in Gelang Patah.
Police also seized a Nissan Navara and a Toyota Estima, along with a parang, five black face masks and an iPhone, with the total value of the seizure estimated at RM120,000.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing, and efforts are ongoing to track down another suspect who remains at large.
