KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia opened lower on Monday despite the positive overnight performance on Wall Street.

The benchmark index is expected to trade within the 1,710 to 1,720 range today.

Hong Seng Consolidated, EI Power and AirAsia X were among the most actively traded counters at the opening bell.

In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin was trading lower at RM304,531, while Ethereum slipped to RM8,307 ringgit.
