NST journalist Nuradzimmah Daim honoured at EAIC Appreciation Award Ceremony

PUTRAJAYA: New Straits Times journalist Nuradzimmah Daim was among media practitioners honoured at the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) Appreciation Award Ceremony, held at Putrajaya tonight.

The ceremony was organised to recognise the contributions of journalists and media personnel in supporting the dissemination of information and coverage of the commission’s programmes and initiatives across the commission’s 16 years of operation.

Recipients were presented with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their sustained coverage and support of EAIC’s work in upholding integrity standards among Malaysia’s enforcement agencies.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, who officiated the ceremony, said the role of the media in raising public awareness on integrity could not be understated.

“Integrity issues must be placed as a standing agenda item in every ministry and agency’s monthly management meetings. The media plays a crucial part in keeping this conversation alive in the public conscience,” he said.

EAIC chairman Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar said the media’s role extended beyond reporting, urging journalists to help foster a culture of accountability among the public.

“What the media can do is provide information, news and articles that encourage the public to help government agencies,” he said.

Nuradzimmah was among recipients drawn from some of Malaysia’s leading news organisations, including TV3, Berita Harian, Harian Metro and Bernama.
