Pahang Sultan urges faster action on rural basic amenities

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah wants relevant authorities to be more proactive in ensuring basic amenities, including electricity and water supply, are provided to the people, especially in rural and interior areas.

In a post on the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, the Royal Household said His Royal Highness had consistently placed strong emphasis on public welfare and hoped all communities in the state would enjoy basic facilities for a better quality of life.

At the same time, the Ruler expressed appreciation to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and the Jerantut District and Land Office for swiftly providing electricity to a family in Kampung Kuala Sat, Ulu Tembeling.

“His Royal Highness is delighted that the family, who had lived without electricity for nearly 13 years, are now finally receiving supply following prompt action by the relevant agencies,” the post said.

Previously, a three-member family drew public attention after stopping the Sultan’s convoy while it was passing through the village, holding a placard reading “Ampun Tuanku, mohon berhenti sekejap” (Your Highness, please stop for a moment) to highlight their hardship.

The Ruler, who was personally driving, stopped to listen to the family’s plight, during which they informed him they had long lived without electricity.

Following this, TNB and the Jerantut District and Land Office acted immediately to install the necessary equipment, and electricity supply was successfully restored to the home today.
