PM reviews outcomes of free medical convoy in Alexandria

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli reviewed a report on the outcomes of a comprehensive medical convoy organised by the Cabinet’s Higher Medical and Relief Committee, in co-operation and coordination with the Egyptian Cure Bank Foundation, in East District and Borg El Arab Centre in Alexandria Governorate from May 18 to 21, 2026.

The premier praised the efforts of the Higher Medical and Relief Committee in implementing medical convoys and providing integrated treatment services to citizens across various governorates nationwide.

He also commended the role of all participants in the convoy and the positive results achieved in alleviating burdens on patients, particularly low-income families and the most vulnerable groups.

In the report, Head of the cabinet’s Higher Medical and Relief Committee Naglaa Abdel Moneim stated that the convoy included several medical specialties, including orthopedics, cardiology, pediatrics, chest diseases, dermatology, ENT, and ophthalmology.

She noted that medical examinations and treatment were provided free of charge, in addition to conducting laboratory tests, distributing eyeglasses, and referring cases requiring surgical interventions or specialized care to university hospitals and hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population.

She also highlighted the strong support provided to the convoy by executive and health leaderships in Alexandria Governorate. Alexandria Governor Ahmed Attia praised the convoy’s role in providing free medical services to citizens in the governorate, affirming that the governorate worked to provide all necessary facilitation measures, contributing to the convoy’s success and the achievement of its intended goals.

The head of the Higher Medical and Relief Committee noted that these convoys come within the framework of ongoing cooperation with civil society institutions and in coordination with health directorates in governorates, contributing to achieving the state’s goals of delivering high-quality healthcare services to citizens in their places of residence.

She added that the committee looks forward to continuing fruitful cooperation with the Egyptian Cure Bank Foundation to expand the scope of free healthcare services across different governorates, particularly in areas suffering from shortages in healthcare services.

She also expressed deep appreciation for the Egyptian Cure Bank Foundation, its continuous efforts, and its effective role in supporting and implementing the convoy, stressing that this cooperation represents a successful model of partnership between state institutions and civil society in supporting the healthcare system and delivering free medical services to the most needy groups across the country.

At the conclusion of the report, Abdel Moneim affirmed the continuation of follow-up with cases requiring surgeries or completion of treatment at university hospitals, Ministry of Health hospitals, and hospitals affiliated with the Egyptian Cure Bank Foundation through full coordination with relevant authorities, in addition to organizing similar medical convoys in Alexandria Governorate in the coming period.
