#SHOWBIZ: From ‘burden’ to millionaire: Daiyan Trisha proves her past management wrong
KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and singer Daiyan Trisha recently opened up about a bitter encounter with her former management team that has stayed with her for a decade.
Responding to a prompt on the social media platform Threads asking users to share the most hurtful sentence they had ever received, the 32-year-old artiste revealed that she still vividly remembers every stinging word directed at her ten years ago.
Reflecting on the incident, Daiyan recalled the stinging parting words from her old management, who told her: “It’s okay if you don’t want us to manage you anymore, at least it’s a little less of a burden for us.”
Instead of letting the harsh dismissal discourage her, the multi-talented celebrity used the negativity as fuel to forge her own path.
She eventually proved her detractors wrong by successfully managing her own career and founding her own management company, subsequently earning millions of ringgit as an independent entity without the backing of a traditional label.
Her candid revelation drew widespread admiration from netizens, who praised her resilience, independence, and strength as an inspiring role model for aspiring Malaysians.
One user, Noreen, perfectly encapsulated the online sentiment by cheering her on, commenting: “That’s the spirit, Daiyan. We never give up whenever we face challenges in life. As Kelly Clarkson sang, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
