Train derails on Ampang-Sri Petaling line
PETALING JAYA: Rapid KL this morning confirmed that one of its trains derailed while passing a railway switch near the Chan Sow Lin station, subsequently disrupting services on the Ampang-Sri Petaling Line.
In a statement, the rail operator said no injuries were reported.
“There were 25 passengers on board the LRT train when the incident occurred.
“They have since been evacuated,” it said.
Rapid KL also said its technical team is currently investigating the matter, while repair works are ongoing.
This morning’s incident is the latest in a series of disruptions that have plagued Rapid KL’s rail services.
On May 18, the Kelana Jaya LRT Line experienced delays due to a technical issue involving a train that was unable to move.
Rapid KL said alternative train services are being provided, with trains from Sentul Timur turning back at the Pudu station and trains from Putra Heights turning back at the Bandar Tasik Selatan station, both operating at six-minute intervals.
Shuttle trains will also run between the Ampang and Pandan Jaya stations via Platform 1 at five-minute intervals.

Shuttle bus services have been provided at the Hang Tuah, Chan Sow Lin, Maluri, Cheras and Pandan Jaya stations.
