Wrong-way Bezza driver arrested; tests positive for drugs
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man in his late 30s over a viral video showing a car being driven against traffic along Jalan Hang Tuah here.
In a statement, Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the suspect tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine following a urine test.
He is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 186 of the Penal Code. Police are expected to seek a remand order today.
The incident involved a silver-coloured Perodua Bezza seen driving against the flow of traffic, weaving through oncoming vehicles before mounting a road divider and rejoining the correct lane.
The video sparked public outrage, with netizens calling for stern action.
